American Beauty What can I possibly say about this movie that will do it justice? It is one of the best films I've ever seen, especially in the last several years. American Beauty has won 5 Oscars, the Golden Globe Award and many others. If you haven't seen it yet, run, don't walk to the nearest video store.

Lester Burnham Kevin is Lester Burnham, a middle-aged husband and father who "sleep-walks" through his daily routine. Annette Benning is Carolyn, his high-strung real estate agent wife who just doesn't understand him. His daughter Jane, played by Thora Burch is a lonely teen-ager who feels her parents just don't know her. |

Lester Quits His Job! Lester has had all he can stand. He decides to quit his job with the advertising agency and on his way home, sees a "help wanted" sign in the window of a fast food diner. He wants a job "with the least amount of responsibility". Of course, Carolyn goes ballistic and it's all downhill from there. |
